My Active Value Investor scorecard for a good investment is as follows:
1. I invest in companies I understand, and I want to own that have:
Strong wide competitive barriers of entry.
Revenue, profit & free cash flow growth.
2. I invest in good balance sheets, and debt is less than 3X EBITDA.
3. I want a discount on the stock price based on the intrinsic value of the company.
4. Decide when to buy, hold or sell the stock.
